FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
3D CONTENT
Simthetiq’s 3D library offers cross platform interoperability with all existing Image Generators and Serious Game Engines. Our flexible content can support large scale deployments in legacy, current and next generation simulation environments. For a full list of the platforms we support from our common 3D sources and to understand more about our process of publishing to different runtime environments, contact us to arrange a deeper technical briefing.
Simthetiq’s 3D library has been developed exclusively from non proprietary and open source data. As such, no CAD or engineering data has been used in our modeling pipeline. This flexibility ensures customers, including numerous NATO and Allied countries, can deploy it in collaborative and multinational level simulation and training exercises.
We rely on extensive research by a team of subject matter experts and proprietary modeling techniques to ensure industry leading accuracy (within 2% of real world dimensions) that, combined with our ultra high resolution modeling pipeline, ensures our 3D library represents the most comprehensive and accurate repository of simulation entity models in the industry.
Simthetiq offers highly flexible, royalty free licensing for all 3D models in our library. We understand that each cusomter’s specific use case can be different and adapt our licensing models accordingly. All customers obtain access to the sources of our models, with controls only placed on the extent to which those sources are further distributed.
We support Government and Enterprise licensing and stand ready to work with customer procurement organisations to ensure our product is adapted to their specific needs. For more information on the types of licensing we propose, please contact: Licensing@simthetiq.com
Yes, Simthetiq’s 3D modeling pipeline is fully PBR compliant and each PBR output can be fully customised to both the simulation environment and the customer’s specific implementation of the latest advanced shader technology.

Yes, Simthetiq’s 3D content is tailored for deployment in large scale military simulation and training activities. Our 3D library is fully compatible with WRM and SISO standards for enumerations and compliant with DIS and HLA communications protocols for use in distributed simulation exercises out of the box.
This runtime ready, “plug and play” capability ensures our 3D library works seamlessly with all CGF and SAF software that use these standard communication protocols.
As an engine agnostic repository of highly immersive 3D content, our 3D library ensures “fair fight” for trainees across any simulation environment you choose to deploy it in.
Yes, Simthetiq supports the Open Geospatial Consortium Common Database (CDB) standard for OpenFlight models.
Understanding that the Simulation and Training Industry’s implementation of the CDB standard is still developing and that our customers adapt their technology to work with the standard in different ways, our internal publication toolset allows for custom OpenFlight exports to ensure CDB compatibility that works seamlessly in any OpenFlight based Image Generator or simulation environment.
X2 VISUAL SYSTEM
Yes, Simthetiq offers a Part-60 compliant currency program for all users of our Image Generator software. It is available on a per airport and per year subscription basis.
Yes, the X2 Visual System has been qualified on helicopter flight simulation training devices and has all the features required for this particular kind of flight training, including brownout/whiteout, rotor freezing, rotor downwash effects (land/water)…
We have more than 400 Level D compatible Airport Visual Databases in our library. Thanks to our expertise in developing 3D visual content and our flexible tools, this number increases on a daily basis. For a full list of airports, click here to reach us.
Simthetiq’s X2 Visual System is based on COTS PC hardware. As such we can offer greater flexibility for users from a hardware maintenance and upgrade standpoint. This also means that we can follow technological improvements in graphics cards and rendering technologies to continually push the envelope in terms of graphical performance for our customers.
Simthetiq’s X2 Visual System has its own proprietary calibration software (INSERT NAME) that allows for precise tuning of warping and edge blending for a rapid set up of a simulation device. The simple user interface offers flexibility for different users and ensures minimal downtime between maintenance periods or during regular use. Our Image generator is also compatible with all leading third party calibration software, such as that provided by companies such as Scalable Display technologies.
