Our Digital Twin software was used to ingest and “stitch together” thousands of engineering CAD files, creating a true Digital Twin of an entire nuclear power plant, all while retaining the related metadata and making it available for a number of operational applications.
This multi-phase project is allowing the operator to use the Digital Twin to support a number of life-cycle activities, including:
- Familiarization, maintenance, security, emergency and radiation training
- Trouble-shooting, maintenance, outage planning and execution
- Supply chain management and operations support
The Digital Twin’s connectivity includes a number of external systems and applications, ranging from the customer’s control room simulator to their PLM/ERP for better training, operations support, logistics and supply chain management.
Deployed in a naval application, Simthetiq’s software suite was used to ingest thousands of engineering CAD files and, through a streamlined process, create a Digital Twin of an entire patrol ship, along with the available metadata.
Using the embedded Scenario Editor (a node-based tool included within our Digital Twin software suite) the customer is able to create a number of scenarios to support their training and operational requirements. Finally, the Digital Twin, through the use of hotpots and metadata links, connects seamlessly to external customer systems, applications and documentation.
